A New Semester

The last first semester of my high school career ended last week.
Now I'm in some new classes, and the countdown to graduation has begun.
I always make the best intentions to do better at the start of each semester or quarter. I plan to get my work done. Get all A's. Draw more. Write on my blog. But it all seems to kind of... fall apart.

I'm hoping that this semester will be different. I'll only really have homework in three classes.
My schedule looks like this...

1. Senior Seminar: We switch between two teachers. I have the one I like more right now, and so far it's a pretty chill section we're learning about, so I don't have homework with him.

2. English: I need to write my 10 (TEN!!!) page paper, but I am uninspired to do that right now. Even though I am researching a pretty boss author (Lewis Carroll- Alice In Wonderland) I just can't get myself to start. So that is why I am on here for now.
And I know that 10 pages isn't that bad, especially compared to college which is fast approaching. But whatever. I'm allowed to whine for now.

3. Art: I am really liking this class so far, despite it being with a crazy french-spanish-german Swede. But Senor B is pretty sweet, and I will definitely scan/photograph our projects in there, and post them up here. So far, we are working on drawing, and shading... but I will get more into that in a later post :)

4. Current World Problems: This is with the same teacher as Senior Seminar. He's really smart, and it's easy to learn in there. Right now there's a pretty small amount of homework.

5. Drama: There are only 4 people in this class. Including me. It's awesome. Tiny schools FTW!

6. Study Period: :)

7. No Class: :)

So I have time to write, right?

I am going to post tomorrow, with information about the art class, and what I'm up to!

Warming Up

Today was a chill sort of day. Really, a lazy Sunday.
I've been catching a little cold lately, so I was napping, and laying on my couch most of the day.
So you can imagine my surprise when I finally looked out the window, and saw snow DUMPING outside.
Everything as covered in a thick sheet of snow.
I really wanted to play in it.
But after another nap, and regaining some strength, it was starting to melt.

But, as a result....
We have late start tomorrow!

I'm going to use the extra time to make sure I can sleep and get rested, and take time getting ready for school.
I'm going to go into town with my camera for the first time in forever.
I haven't taken any quality photos in  SUCH a long time.
My camera is full of snapshots from parties or outings with friends, but I need to take some time behind the lens, alone so I can get some good pictures.

So, expect some of that coming your way, as well as some scans of drawings I have been working on.

I'm not doing this for you.

Whoever you are out there, this isn't for your pleasure.
I didn't stay awake at night, pondering ways to make you happy, and find me interesting.
I will update this when I feel it's right, and if you want to read along, or comment, I would love it.
But remember. This is my project.
It's for bettering my life.

Now that it's good and awkward between us...

I'm Megan!
I don't really have blue hair.
And that's Katie.
But we won't focus on her right now.... not that she isn't important.
(Because she definitely is, she's my favorite)
But this is my introduction.

I live in a small town in the Northwest, and I'm going to be graduating this year.
I turned 18 years old three days ago, and I'm not sure what to think of it yet.
Soon I'll be off to college, and I have no idea what I'm doing.
Everything is happening so fast...
But, that's why I love art! It gives you time to sit back for a while, and enjoy things.

Speaking of art...
That's what I like to do.
I love drawing, and painting, and colors, and design.
I love to read and write, and take photographs.

My friend Lindsey
(say hi to Lindsey)
Anyways, my friend Lindsey says I should go to art school next year.
I'm not so sure.
I mean, I know I would love it.
But how far would it get me?

That's part of the reason I am expressing myself on here right now.
I want to not only take advantage of art for the present, and preserve it here...
I also want to see if I can catch a glimpse of my future.
See if this is truely the path for me.
And maybe even learn something about me at the same time!

Among other things, I'll be posting pictures, scans of drawings, videos, music I like, books I'm reading, and maybe updates of what's going on with me.
As well as some excerpts from my 365 day writing project if I ever write anything worth sharing.

So these first few posts might be slow.
And wordy.
But it's preparing myself. And you if you're out there.

I will see you soon.
